Τhis book deals with the complex nature of the writing task ίn English, as a second Language. It aims to teach non English EST students the skills of writing, that is, how to prepare information through basic patterns of development for Technical
and Academic Writing such as cause and effect, problem solution, definition etc.
Τ he author follows a building approach starting from the analysis of a simple
sentence and ending with the production of materials useful to EST students such as writing notes, application letters, CVs, memoranda, progress reports etc.
Bearing ίn mind the principle that the acquired knowledge is better consolidated
by practice, the author gives the student the opportunity to practice at each various stages; at the Ievel of paragraphs, letter writing, reports, summaries, writing references etc, by asking them to complete different tasks.
