While the book will tell us about their usage, we must not in any way consider it a medical authority. We will surely be struck by the enormous potentiality of certain plants, but must always have in mind that these are general properties, which are not especially suited to every individual and the peculiarities of his/her health. We will pay particular

attention to those plants which are poisonous and regard them with care and caution.

In all instances, the prior advice of a doctor is essential before any plant is used, in any way.

We should never play with drugs, just as we should never play with our own life. The book will also help us to recognise the plants which can be eaten and constitute a pleasant and healthy variation to our diet.
